The Spits in Portland

The Spits are an American garage-punk band formed by brothers Sean and Erin Wood in Michigan and later based in Seattle. Their terse, lo-fi songs draw on early punk, garage rock and synthesizer-driven new wave; their catalog centers on a series of self-titled albums and tracks including “Dropout,” “Black Kar” and “Kill the Kool.” The Spits have toured punk clubs in North America and Europe since their early releases. They perform as a full band, and masks and matching costumes have long been part of their stage presentation. That compact club show has also appeared at Gonerfest in Memphis and Burger Boogaloo in Oakland.
