The Suitcase Junket is the American one-man-band project of Massachusetts singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Lorenz. He plays roots music shaped by folk, blues and rock, using throat singing and homemade instruments on records including Mean Dog, Trampoline, Pile Driver and The End Is New. The Suitcase Junket has toured in support of Iron & Wine and Los Lobos, then carried the same solo format to festival appearances at Mountain Jam, Green River Festival and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Those engagements established a live history built around clubs, theatres and outdoor festival stages. The live set places guitar, vocals, a suitcase kick drum and assorted percussion under the control of a single performer. Every part of that one-man-band arrangement is performed by Matt Lorenz.
