Artist
The Urban Voodoo Machine are a British band formed in London in 2003 by singer and guitarist Paul-Ronney Angel. Their music draws on rock ’n’ roll, blues, punk, cabaret and gypsy-influenced folk, documented on albums including Bourbon Soaked Gypsy Blues Bop ’N’ Stroll, In Black ’N’ Red and Love, Drink & Death. The long-running Gypsy Hotel club nights gave the band a home for its multi-instrumental shows, led by Angel and featuring brass, strings, accordion and percussion. The Urban Voodoo Machine later supported The Pogues on tour and performed at Glastonbury Festival and Download Festival.
