The Waifs in Sydney

The Waifs are an Australian folk-rock band formed in Albany, Western Australia, in 1992 by sisters Vikki Thorn and Donna Simpson with guitarist Josh Cunningham. Acoustic guitars, close vocal harmonies and Thorn’s harmonica shape songs including “London Still,” “Bridal Train” and “Lighthouse,” while Up All Night became a central album in their catalogue. During the 1990s, The Waifs toured pubs and festivals around their home country. In 2003, they opened for Bob Dylan on a national tour, then joined his North American dates, including Newport Folk Festival.
