The Wedding Present are an English indie rock band formed in Leeds in 1985 and led by singer-guitarist David Gedge. Their fast, jangling guitars and Gedge’s direct relationship lyrics became established through the albums George Best, Bizarro and Seamonsters, as well as songs including “My Favourite Dress,” “Kennedy” and “Brassneck.” In 2017, The Wedding Present performed George Best in full at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, adding strings and brass to the band for the album’s anniversary. The concert was subsequently released as George Best 30, documenting the group’s long-running practice of returning to key records on stage.
