THE YELLOW MONKEY are a Japanese rock band formed in Tokyo in 1988. Their music draws on glam rock, hard rock and kayōkyoku, and they are known for songs including “JAM,” “SPARK,” “BURN” and “LOVE LOVE SHOW,” as well as the albums SICKS and PUNCH DRUNKARD. The band disbanded in 2004 and reunited in 2016. THE YELLOW MONKEY SUPER JAPAN TOUR 2016 opened at Yoyogi National Gymnasium with the band’s first concert after re-forming. They later staged THE YELLOW MONKEY SUPER BIG EGG 2017 at Tokyo Dome, followed by the 2019 arena tour GREATFUL SPOONFUL. Their festival appearances since the reunion have included Fuji Rock Festival and Rock in Japan Festival.
