Thee Sinseers in Los Angeles

Thee Sinseers are an American soul group from East Los Angeles led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Joey Quiñones. Their music draws on Chicano soul, R&B and the sweet-soul tradition; the filmed performance of “Seems Like,” the single “What’s His Name” and the album Sinseerly Yours are central to their catalogue. The filmed Live at the Recordium sessions documented their full-band arrangements, built around Quiñones’s lead vocals, backing harmonies and horns. They later carried that ensemble format into clubs and theatres, including joint tour dates with fellow Los Angeles group The Altons.

The Aggrolites are an American band formed in Los Angeles in 2002. They play early reggae and rocksteady with soul and punk energy, calling the sound “dirty reggae.” Albums including The Aggrolites, Reggae Hit L.A. and IV established that approach, while songs such as “Dirty Reggae” and “Free Time” became staples of their catalogue. The Aggrolites spent the summer of 2008 on the Vans Warped Tour, presenting their organ-led, full-band set across the touring festival. They later played Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas and Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
