Thundercat in Omaha

Thundercat is the stage name of American bassist, singer and songwriter Stephen Bruner, who was born in Los Angeles in 1984. He plays funk, jazz and soul, and is known for the albums Drunk and It Is What It Is, as well as the songs “Them Changes” and “Dragonball Durag.” Thundercat performed at Coachella in 2016 and recorded a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR the following year. In 2022 he played stadiums as a support act on Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Global Stadium Tour.

Blu DeTiger is an American singer, songwriter and bassist from New York City who makes bass-led pop and indie rock. She first drew broad attention through short bass-performance videos and released the EP How Did We Get Here?, featuring “Figure It Out” and “Vintage.” Her debut album, All I Ever Want Is Everything, followed in 2024. Before headlining under her own name, Blu DeTiger toured as a bassist for Caroline Polachek and Fletcher. She mounted the How Did We Get Here? Tour in 2022 and also supported Sabrina Carpenter on selected dates of the Emails I Can’t Send Tour. Her own concerts feature her on vocals and bass with a live band, including her sister Rex DeTiger on drums, a format she took back on the road for the All I Ever Want Is Everything Tour.
