Tokio Hotel in Magdeburg

Tokio Hotel is a German rock band formed in Magdeburg in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, bassist Georg Listing and drummer Gustav Schäfer. The band became known through “Durch den Monsun” and the album Schrei, later recording an English version of the song as “Monsoon.” Albums including Zimmer 483, Humanoid and Kings of Suburbia traced a move toward electronic pop while retaining the group’s rock lineup. The Schrei Tour was followed by the Zimmer 483 Tour and the 1000 Hotels Tour as the band moved into arenas across Europe. In 2010, the Welcome to Humanoid City Tour supplied the concert film Humanoid City Live, recorded in Milan. Later runs included the Dream Machine Tour and the 2023 Beyond the World Tour.
