Tom Cochrane is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, born in 1953 in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. He became known as the lead singer and principal songwriter of Red Rider, whose repertoire includes “Lunatic Fringe,” “Human Race” and “Big League.” His solo album Mad Mad World produced “Life Is a Highway,” the song most closely associated with his solo career. In 1985, Tom Cochrane performed with Red Rider at the Canadian Live Aid concert at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto. He returned to a large televised benefit concert in 2005, performing at Live 8 in Barrie.
Amanda Marshall is a Canadian rock and pop singer-songwriter born in Toronto in 1972. Her self-titled debut album introduced the songs “Let It Rain,” “Birmingham,” “Beautiful Goodbye” and “Dark Horse”; later releases include Tuesday’s Child and Everybody’s Got a Story. In 2023, the 25 & Counting: The Heavy Lifting Tour marked her first extensive Canadian headline tour in more than two decades. The tour followed Heavy Lifting, her first studio album since Everybody’s Got a Story, and featured full-band performances in theatres and arenas, including Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver and Avenir Centre in Moncton.
