Tom Robinson Band in Havant

Tom Robinson Band is a British rock group formed in London in 1976 by singer and bassist Tom Robinson. Its politically direct punk-era rock is best known through “2-4-6-8 Motorway,” “Glad to Be Gay” and the debut album Power in the Darkness. In 1977, Tom Robinson Band appeared at Reading Festival after building an audience through British club concerts. The following year the group performed at the Carnival Against the Nazis in London’s Victoria Park, a Rock Against Racism and Anti-Nazi League event that also featured The Clash, Steel Pulse and X-Ray Spex.
