Tomatito in Seville

Tomatito is a Spanish flamenco guitarist, born in Almería in 1958. He became known as the principal accompanist to singer Camarón de la Isla and later established a solo career through albums including Rosas del amor, Paseo de los castaños and Aguadulce. His recordings with jazz pianist Michel Camilo include Spain and Spain Again. Tomatito accompanied Camarón de la Isla through the singer’s later career, including a 1987 concert at the Cirque d’Hiver in Paris. He subsequently toured under his own name and developed a long-running guitar-and-piano concert partnership with Michel Camilo, performing repertoire from Spain and Spain Again.
