Tony Vega in Zaragoza

Tony Vega is a Puerto Rican salsa singer, born in Salinas in 1957, known for the romantic salsa of his solo recordings and his earlier work with major orchestras. His repertoire includes “Esa Mujer,” “Aparentemente” and “Lo Mío Es Amor,” while albums such as Yo Me Quedo established his solo catalog. Tony Vega toured and performed with Raphy Leavitt y La Selecta before spending much of the 1980s as a vocalist in Willie Rosario’s orchestra. Work with Louie Ramirez followed, leading into a solo concert career backed by salsa musicians. His solo performances draw on the repertoire of Yo Me Quedo and Lo Mío Es Amor.
