Torche is an American heavy rock band formed in Miami in 2004. Singer and guitarist Steve Brooks had previously played in Floor. Their low-tuned sound draws on sludge metal, doom and stoner rock; they are known for the albums Meanderthal, Harmonicraft and Restarter and songs including “Healer” and “Kicking.” Torche performed at Roadburn in Tilburg in 2008, a set documented on Live at Roadburn 2008. Later that year, they supported Mogwai on a US tour. In 2010, they opened for Coheed and Cambria on dates that also featured Circa Survive.
