Artist
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an American rock orchestra formed in 1996 by producer and composer Paul O’Neill. It plays symphonic and progressive rock and is known for the instrumental “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24” and the albums Christmas Eve and Other Stories, The Christmas Attic and The Lost Christmas Eve. Trans-Siberian Orchestra first toured in 1999 and went on to make winter concert runs a central part of its live work. Later tours used separate companies on eastern and western routes at the same time, and The Ghosts of Christmas Eve became one of the stories repeatedly staged on those arena runs. The holiday concert format uses a rock band, string players, multiple vocalists and narration to present a seasonal rock opera. A second set draws on other parts of the group’s catalog. It has played New York’s Madison Square Garden; in Philadelphia, it has performed at Wells Fargo Center.
