About Tri Yann
Tri Yann is a French band formed in Nantes in 1970, known for playing Breton folk and Celtic rock. Traditional songs including “La Jument de Michao,” “Les Prisons de Nantes” and “Pelot d'Hennebont” became central to their repertoire, while the album La Découverte ou l'Ignorance helped establish their characteristic mix of Breton material and rock instrumentation.
The band celebrated 40 years onstage with a concert at Zénith de Nantes, documented on Le Concert des 40 ans. Tri Yann later embarked on the farewell Kenavo Tour, concluding its live career in September 2021 with a final series of performances at the Cité des Congrès.
