Triosence is a German contemporary-jazz trio formed in 1999 and led by pianist and composer Bernhard Schüler. Its melodic, composition-led approach to piano-trio jazz is documented on albums including First Enchantment, Where Time Stands Still and Scorpio Rising. In 2001, Triosence won first prize in the national Jugend jazzt competition, an early performance milestone for the group. The trio subsequently took its piano, bass and drums repertoire beyond Germany, appearing at JazzBaltica and South Korea’s Jarasum International Jazz Festival.
