Trixie Whitley in Zurich

Trixie Whitley is a Belgian-American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Ghent in 1987 and raised partly in New York. Her music draws on soul, blues and alternative rock. She first became widely known as the lead singer of Daniel Lanois’s group Black Dub, then established her solo catalogue through the albums Fourth Corner, Porta Bohemica and Lacuna, including songs such as “Breathe You in My Dreams” and “Need Your Love.” Trixie Whitley toured as Black Dub’s lead vocalist alongside Daniel Lanois, Brian Blade and Daryl Johnson following the group’s self-titled album. After Fourth Corner, she toured with her own band in Europe and North America; her solo concert history includes performances at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels and Paradiso in Amsterdam.
