Tsai Chin in Guangzhou

Tsai Chin is a Taiwanese singer, born in Kaohsiung in 1957, whose low contralto is closely associated with Mandarin pop and folk-rooted ballads. She began recording during Taiwan’s campus folk-song movement in the late 1970s and became known for songs including “Just Like Your Tenderness,” “The Forgotten Time,” “Read You” and “The Last Night.” Her 2007 Bu Liao Qing concerts at Hong Kong Coliseum were released as a live album. She followed that concert production with the Hai Shang Liang Xiao series and later the Bao Dao Bu Liao Qing tour.
