TsuShiMaMiRe is a Japanese all-female rock trio formed in Chiba in 1999 by Mari Kono, Yayoi Tsushima and Mizue Masuda. The band plays punk, alternative rock and noise rock, and is known for surreal lyrics and sudden shifts in style. Its catalogue includes the albums Pregnant Fantasy and no-miso shortcake, as well as songs such as “Tea Time Ska” and “Air Control Remote Control.” In 2004, TsuShiMaMiRe played South by Southwest in Austin and undertook its first US tour around that appearance. The band later played dates on the Vans Warped Tour, then supported the SuicideGirls Live Burlesque tour.
