About Tublatanka
Tublatanka is a Slovak hard-rock band formed in Bratislava in 1982 by singer-guitarist Martin Ďurinda, bassist Pavol Horváth and drummer Juraj Černý. The group’s guitar-driven rock and heavy-metal sound is heard on albums such as Tublatanka and Skúsime to cez vesmír. Its best-known songs include “Dnes,” “Pravda víťazí” and “Láska, drž ma nad hladinou.”
In 1994, Tublatanka represented Slovakia at the Eurovision Song Contest, performing “Nekonečná pieseň” at the Point Theatre in Dublin. The band subsequently sustained a full-band concert career in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, playing theatres, arenas and rock festivals; later tours have included dates in Prague and Ostrava.
