Tullio De Piscopo in Turin

Tullio De Piscopo is an Italian drummer, percussionist, singer and songwriter, born in Naples in 1946. His music draws on jazz, pop and dance rhythms, and he is best known for “Andamento lento” and “Stop Bajon (Primavera).” He also recorded with Astor Piazzolla on Libertango and became a close musical associate of Pino Daniele, contributing to albums including Vai mo’. In 1981, Tullio De Piscopo joined Pino Daniele, James Senese, Tony Esposito, Joe Amoruso and Rino Zurzolo for a major concert in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples. He brought “Andamento lento” to the Sanremo Music Festival in 1988, placing his work as a singer-songwriter before the festival’s national television audience.
