Udo Lindenberg is a German singer-songwriter and drummer, born in Gronau in 1946, who built his career around rock songs performed in German. He formed the Panikorchester in the 1970s and is known for the album Alles klar auf der Andrea Doria and songs including “Sonderzug nach Pankow,” “Horizont,” “Cello” and “Mein Ding.” In 1983, he performed at the Palace of the Republic in East Berlin, a rare appearance in the GDR by a West German rock musician. He recorded MTV Unplugged: Live aus dem Hotel Atlantic in Hamburg in 2011, accompanied by the Panikorchester and invited guests. The Stärker als die Zeit concerts took him through arenas and stadiums in 2016 and 2017, and in 2022 he returned to arenas on the Udopium Live tour.
