Artists
UK Subs are an English punk rock band formed in London in 1976 by singer Charlie Harper. They became known during the first wave of British punk through songs including “Stranglehold,” “Warhead” and “Teenage,” while albums such as Another Kind of Blues and Brand New Age established their fast, direct sound. A 1980 concert at the Rainbow Theatre was recorded for the live album Crash Course. More than two decades later, the band recorded Live in a Dive at the Showcase Theater in Corona, California, documenting the durable full-band format built around Harper. Their long performance history also includes repeated appearances at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
Peter and the Test Tube Babies are an English punk band formed in Peacehaven in 1978 by singer Peter Bywaters and guitarist Del Strange. Their early records paired fast punk rock with irreverent humour, notably “Banned from the Pubs” and “The Jinx,” while Mating Sounds of South American Frogs became a central album in their catalogue. In 1982, the band supported The Clash on the UK Combat Rock tour. That period also produced Pissed and Proud, their live debut album, and Peter and the Test Tube Babies went on to tour clubs and punk festivals across Britain and mainland Europe. Their festival history includes repeated appearances at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool and performances at Punk & Disorderly in Berlin.
