About Ultraje a Rigor
Ultraje a Rigor is a Brazilian rock band formed in São Paulo in 1980. Known for direct rock-and-roll arrangements and humorous, satirical Portuguese lyrics, the group established its catalog with the 1985 debut album Nós Vamos Invadir Sua Praia and songs including “Inútil,” “Ciúme” and the title track.
The 1999 concert album 18 Anos sem Tirar! documented the band’s live catalog, followed in 2005 by an Acústico MTV performance that recast its songs for an unplugged ensemble. Both formats kept the lyrics and guitar-led arrangements at the center of performances fronted by singer and guitarist Roger Moreira.
