Valeriy Meladze in Chisinau

Valeriy Meladze is a Russian pop singer of Georgian origin, born in Batumi in 1965. He established his solo career in the 1990s through albums including Sera and Posledny romantik, followed by songs such as “Samba belogo motylka” and “Krasivo.” Much of his repertoire was written by his brother Konstantin Meladze, including the VIA Gra duet “Prityazhenya bolshe net.” Valeriy Meladze appeared repeatedly as a guest performer at New Wave during the festival’s years in Jurmala. In 2015, he and Konstantin presented the anniversary concert Polsta, a retrospective of their work staged at Crocus City Hall in Moscow.
