Artist
Godewind is a German band formed in Schleswig-Holstein in 1979. Its North German folk and folk-pop repertoire includes songs in Low German and High German, and the group is particularly associated with Christmas music and songs about the region’s coastal life. The annual Godewind Weihnachtstournee has long been central to the band’s concert history, taking its seasonal repertoire to churches, theatres and concert halls across northern Germany. The concerts use a full-band format built around ensemble singing and acoustic and electric instruments. Husum and Neumünster are among the cities closely associated with this Christmas circuit.
