Artist
Waltari are a Finnish band formed in 1986, led by bassist and vocalist Kärtsy Hatakka. Their music draws on alternative metal, punk, progressive rock, industrial sounds and electronic dance music; albums such as Torcha! and Big Bang, together with the song “So Fine!,” established their crossover approach. In 1995, Waltari performed the death-metal symphony Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! at Helsinki Festival with the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra. The band subsequently carried its full-band shows through European clubs and onto festival stages including Wacken Open Air and Brutal Assault.
