Wand in San Francisco

Wand is an American psychedelic rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2013 around singer and guitarist Cory Hanson. The group is known for the heavy, distorted sound of Ganglion Reef, Golem and 1000 Days, as well as the more expansive songwriting of Plum and Laughing Matter. “Flying Golem” and “Melted Rope” are among its early signature songs. Wand toured as an opening act for Ty Segall after Ganglion Reef, then played headline club dates behind its subsequent records. The Plum tour included a multi-night engagement at Zebulon in Los Angeles. Recordings from those performances were later released as the live album Spiders in the Rain.
