Wardruna in Tallinn

Wardruna is a Norwegian folk group founded by composer and multi-instrumentalist Einar Selvik in 2003. The group explores Norse history, runes and Old Norse poetic traditions through releases including the Runaljod trilogy, Kvitravn and Birna. Its best-known pieces include “Helvegen,” while Wardruna’s music and Selvik’s compositions have also appeared in the television series Vikings. The Kvitravn tour reached the Royal Albert Hall in 2022. In 2023, Wardruna performed at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens; the concert was subsequently documented as Live at the Acropolis. Wardruna performs as an ensemble using voices, frame drums, the kravik lyre, tagelharpa, horns and other traditional instruments. Einar Selvik and Lindy-Fay Hella lead the vocal parts.
