Wednesday 13 is the horror-punk and hard-rock project formed in 2004 by American singer and songwriter Joseph Poole, following his work with Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13 and Murderdolls. Horror-film imagery, glam-metal hooks and punk guitars shape records including Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead, Fang Bang and Skeletons; “I Walked with a Zombie” and “Bad Things” are among his best-known songs. Wednesday 13 took the new band on the road behind Transylvania 90210 in 2005 and performed at Download Festival that summer. He later opened for Alice Cooper on the Halloween Night of Fear dates in Britain in 2011, including a show at Alexandra Palace in London. The 2022 20 Years of Fear tour revisited songs from across his recording career.
The Birthday Massacre are a Canadian electronic rock band formed in London, Ontario, in 1999 and later based in Toronto. Originally called Imagica, they adopted their present name before releasing albums including Nothing and Nowhere, Violet and Walking with Strangers. Their best-known songs include “Blue,” “Happy Birthday” and “Looking Glass.” The Birthday Massacre recorded a concert at Knust in Hamburg for Show and Tell, a live album and concert film drawn from the Walking with Strangers touring period. Their European festival appearances have also included M’era Luna and Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Germany.
