Weedeater is an American sludge-metal band formed in Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1998. Led by bassist and vocalist Dave “Dixie” Collins, the group is known for low-tuned riffs, abrasive vocals and albums including ...And Justice for Y’all, Sixteen Tons, God Luck and Good Speed, Jason... the Dragon and Goliathan. At Roadburn Festival in Tilburg in 2010, Weedeater played a set later issued as Live at Roadburn 2010. The band continues to tour as a three-piece, playing clubs and specialist metal festivals including Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore and Psycho Las Vegas.
Royal Thunder is an American hard-rock band formed in Atlanta in 2004. Led by vocalist and bassist Mlny Parsonz and guitarist Josh Weaver, the group draws on doom metal, progressive rock and Southern rock. The albums CVI, Crooked Doors, Wick and Rebuilding the Mountain established its catalogue of heavy riffs and soul-rooted vocals. Royal Thunder joined The Dillinger Escape Plan on a North American tour and has also toured with Baroness. Its live history extends to European festival stages, including Roadburn in Tilburg.
