Weezer in Glasgow

Weezer are an American alternative-rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1992. Led by singer and guitarist Rivers Cuomo, they became known through Weezer, commonly called the Blue Album, and songs including “Buddy Holly,” “Undone – The Sweater Song” and “Say It Ain’t So.” Pinkerton, “Hash Pipe” and “Island in the Sun” became further central parts of their catalogue. In 2018, Weezer co-headlined a North American tour with Pixies. They later played stadiums alongside Green Day and Fall Out Boy on the Hella Mega Tour. The 2024 Voyage to the Blue Planet arena tour featured a full performance of the Blue Album, supported by the Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. Weezer played Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro in 2019 and performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2025.

Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band formed on Long Island in 1999, known for emo and alternative rock built around intertwined vocals and guitars. The album Tell All Your Friends established the group’s early sound through songs including “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team),” while Where You Want to Be and Louder Now produced staples such as “A Decade Under the Influence” and “MakeDamnSure.” Taking Back Sunday performed on the 2007 Projekt Revolution tour alongside Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance. In 2019, the band marked its twentieth anniversary by playing Tell All Your Friends in full, followed by either Where You Want to Be or Louder Now, chosen by a coin toss each night. The band later toured with Third Eye Blind on the 2022 Summer Gods Tour.
