Widespread Panic is an American rock band formed in Georgia in 1986. The group plays Southern rock and blues shaped by jam-band improvisation, and is known for albums including Space Wrangler, Everyday and Ain’t Life Grand. “Ain’t Life Grand” and “Climb to Safety” are enduring parts of its repertoire. The band joined the H.O.R.D.E. tour in the early 1990s, then marked the release of Light Fuse, Get Away with a free 1998 concert in downtown Athens. Widespread Panic performed at the first Bonnaroo in 2002 and later established a long history of multi-night stands at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Widespread Panic performs as a six-piece band and commonly structures headline concerts in two sets. Set lists change nightly, and songs often expand into extended improvisations and connected transitions. The group also plays multi-night theatre engagements, including runs at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee.
