Wishbone Ash in Aschaffenburg

Wishbone Ash are a British rock band formed in Torquay in 1969. Their progressive, hard-rock and blues-based writing is distinguished by harmonized lead-guitar parts, established by original guitarists Andy Powell and Ted Turner. The album Argus and songs including “Blowin’ Free,” “The King Will Come” and “Warrior” are central to their catalogue. Recordings from 1973 concerts at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls and Newcastle City Hall became part of the live album Live Dates, documenting the twin-guitar lineup during the band’s early touring years. In 2009, former members joined Wishbone Ash for a 40th-anniversary concert at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
