About Wyclef Jean
Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-born American rapper, singer, guitarist and producer who makes hip-hop, reggae and R&B. Born in 1969 and raised in New Jersey, he became known as a member of the Fugees alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras, recording “Ready or Not” and “Killing Me Softly” for the album The Score. His solo work includes The Carnival, “Gone till November” and the Mary J. Blige duet “911.”
At Woodstock ’99, Wyclef Jean played a solo set that included a tribute to Jimi Hendrix and the burning of his guitar. Five years later, he reunited with the Fugees for the concert filmed in Dave Chappelle’s Block Party in Brooklyn.
