XIII. Století are a Czech gothic rock band formed in Jihlava in 1990 by brothers Petr and Pavel Štěpán after their punk group Hrdinové nové fronty ended. Dark guitar-led arrangements and Petr Štěpán’s deep vocals characterize albums including Amulet, Gotika and Nosferatu; “Elizabeth” and “Justina” are among their best-known songs. XIII. Století have performed at Castle Party in Bolków, reflecting the audience they established in Poland beyond their domestic club circuit. They have also appeared at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, one of Germany’s principal goth festivals.
