Yael Naim in Paris

Yael Naim is a French-Israeli singer-songwriter, born in Paris in 1978 and raised in Israel, whose music draws on folk, piano pop and indie songwriting. “New Soul” reached a broad audience after Apple used it in a MacBook Air advertisement. Her catalogue also includes the self-titled album Yael Naim, She Was a Boy and Older. Yael Naim has toured with multi-instrumentalist David Donatien as a core member of her ensemble. A small group joined them for the 2011 NPR Tiny Desk Concert, where the arrangements centered on piano, percussion and close vocal harmonies.
