About Yazoo
Yazoo are an English synth-pop duo formed in Basildon in 1981 by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke and singer Alison Moyet. Their spare electronic arrangements and Moyet’s blues-rooted voice shaped songs including “Only You,” “Don’t Go,” “Situation” and “Nobody’s Diary,” released across the albums Upstairs at Eric’s and You and Me Both.
Yazoo toured behind Upstairs at Eric’s in 1982, during the duo’s brief original run. After separating in 1983, Clarke and Moyet returned for the Reconnected tour in 2008, including concerts at Hammersmith Apollo in London and Terminal 5 in New York; recordings from the dates were issued as Reconnected Live. They appeared together again at Mute’s Short Circuit festival at the Roundhouse in 2011.
