Yoshihiro Kai is a Japanese rock singer-songwriter, born in Fukuoka in 1953, and the frontman of KAI BAND, which he formed in 1974. His best-known songs include “Uragiri no Machikado,” “HERO (Hero ni Naru Toki, Sore wa Ima)” and “Anna.” In 1983, KAI BAND played the outdoor THE BIG GIG concert in Shinjuku Central Park, a performance later released as a concert video. Following the group’s 1986 farewell concerts, Yoshihiro Kai toured under his own name and subsequently reunited the band for anniversary performances at Nippon Budokan.
