Artist
Yoshitaka Minami is a Japanese singer-songwriter and composer, born in 1950, whose music draws on city pop, jazz-pop and bossa nova. He debuted with the 1973 album Matenrō no Hero, produced by Haruomi Hosono, and is known for “Monroe Walk,” “Slow na Boogie ni Shitekure (I Want You)” and the album South of the Border. The recurring Half & Half concert series has paired Yoshitaka Minami with Kiyotaka Sugiyama for joint dates in Japanese theatres and concert halls, including individual sets and performances together. In 2023, he marked 50 years since his record debut with an anniversary concert at Tokyo International Forum Hall C.
