Yukio Yokoyama in Awaji

Yukio Yokoyama is a Japanese classical pianist, born in 1971, whose repertoire is closely associated with Frédéric Chopin. He received third prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition in 1990 and has built much of his recording and recital work around the composer. In 2010, he gave a marathon recital in Tokyo comprising 166 solo works by Chopin over more than 16 hours, a performance recognized by Guinness World Records. The following year he returned to the format with a 212-work program devoted to Chopin.
