Žalman & spol. in Prague

Žalman & spol. is a Czech folk group founded in 1982 by singer-songwriter Pavel Žalman Lohonka, who had previously made his name with Minnesengři. Its repertoire is built around melodic acoustic arrangements and close vocal harmonies, and includes songs such as “Rána v trávě,” “Jantarová země” and “Divokej horskej tymián.” Žalman & spol. began playing folk venues and festivals in 1982 and has appeared at Porta, a longstanding gathering for the Czech folk and country scene. In later years, the group also performed at Žalmanův folkový Kyjov, a recurring festival centred on Pavel Žalman Lohonka’s songs and invited guests.
