ZHU in Brooklyn

ZHU is the stage name of Steven Zhu, an American electronic musician, singer and producer born in San Francisco. He began releasing music under the alias in 2014, pairing deep house production with his own low-register vocals. The single “Faded” became his signature track, while Generationwhy and Ringos Desert established his album-length sound. ZHU made his Coachella debut in 2016 and followed it with the Dune Tour in 2018. In 2021, he mounted the multi-night DREAMROCKS run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, extending his live work beyond clubs into major outdoor venues. ZHU’s headline concerts use a hybrid live format: he sings, plays guitar and keyboards, and performs with musicians including a saxophonist. He has also performed at Ultra Music Festival in Miami and Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.
