Takehara Pistol in Fukui-shi

Takehara Pistol is a Japanese singer-songwriter and actor who first recorded as one half of the folk duo Yakozen. After the duo disbanded in 2009, he resumed a solo career built around acoustic folk and rock; his best-known songs include “Yo, Sokono Wakaino” and “Forever Young.” In 2017, he performed “Yo, Sokono Wakaino” at the 68th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. His concerts center on his voice and acoustic guitar, a format he brought to a headline performance at Nippon Budokan in 2018.
