Mägo de Oz is a Spanish folk-metal band formed in Madrid in 1988. Its music brings violin and flute into heavy and power metal, and the group is known for songs including “Fiesta pagana” and “Molinos de viento,” as well as the albums La leyenda de La Mancha, Finisterra and Gaia. The 2002 live album Fölktergeist documented the band’s early concert repertoire. In 2017, Mägo de Oz staged Diabulus in Opera at Arena Ciudad de México, performing with an orchestra and choir; the concert was subsequently released as a live recording and video. The band has appeared at both Viña Rock and Leyendas del Rock, recurring events in Spain’s rock and metal calendar.
