Artist
A Winged Victory for the Sullen is an American ambient and modern-classical duo formed in 2011 by composers Dustin O’Halloran and Adam Wiltzie. Piano, strings and sustained electronic tones shape releases including their self-titled debut, Atomos and The Undivided Five; “Steep Hills of Vicodin Tears” is among their best-known pieces. In 2013, Wayne McGregor commissioned the duo to compose the score for his dance work Atomos, first presented by his company at Sadler’s Wells in London. The music became their second album and entered their concert repertoire. In 2015, they performed it at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra.
