Al Jardine in Cerritos

Al Jardine is an American singer, guitarist and co-founder of the Beach Boys, formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961. He sang lead on the group’s recordings of “Help Me, Rhonda” and “Then I Kissed Her,” while his solo album A Postcard from California returned to the vocal harmonies and pop-rock songwriting associated with his work in the band. Al Jardine spent decades touring with the Beach Boys and later led Beach Boys Family & Friends, whose lineup included his sons Matt and Adam. He rejoined Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and David Marks for the Beach Boys’ 50th Anniversary Tour in 2012, then toured as part of Wilson’s band on the Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary World Tour. The latter concerts presented Pet Sounds in sequence alongside other songs from the group’s catalogue. Al Jardine and Matt Jardine contributed vocals to the touring ensemble led by Brian Wilson.
