Benmont Tench in Los Angeles

Benmont Tench is an American pianist, keyboard player, singer and songwriter, born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1953. He played in Tom Petty’s earlier band Mudcrutch and became a founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in 1976. His session credits include recordings by Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks, the Rolling Stones and U2. His solo albums are You Should Be So Lucky and The Melancholy Season. His 2025 solo tour opened with a five-night engagement at New York’s Café Carlyle, then continued with nine shows on the West Coast.
