Al Murray in Sheffield

Al Murray is an English stand-up comedian, actor and presenter, born in 1968 and best known for his satirical Pub Landlord character. The opinionated, fiercely patriotic publican became the focus of the sitcom Time Gentlemen Please and the television talk show Al Murray’s Happy Hour. The Pub Landlord first appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1994, and Murray won the Perrier Award there in 1999 for a show centred on the character. He later performed as the Pub Landlord on theatre tours including One Man, One Guvnor and Landlord of Hope and Glory.
